Bacti-Stat AE with 3000 parts per million (0.3%) Triclosan is recommended for use as a Healthcare Personnel Handwash. This recommendation is based on efficacy testing of the final formulation. Bacti-Stat AE has been proven effective against fungi, Gram-positive and Gramnegative bacteria as well as antibiotic-resistant organisms. Bacti-Stat AE has been proven effective against such organisms as Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Serratia marcescens, Staphylococcus aureus, MRSA and VRE. Bacti-Stat AE has demonstrated efficacy as a Healthcare Personnel Handwash, exceeding the criteria stated in the FDA Tentative Final Monograph, June 17, 1994. The test results listed in this bulletin substantiate the activity of Bacti-Stat AE.
